When it comes to taking any kind of supplement I like to start small.

For example, I occasionally use melatonin to help me sleep. In fact, I used to work for a company that manufactured melatonin products. They had hundreds of options and many people at the company used the supplement, and sometimes in high milligram amounts, upwards of 1,000 milligrams. That’s a lot! If I do use it, I find .5 milligrams sufficient. And that is only for occasional usage.

Meanwhile, what about CBD?!

Although there are a lot of emerging studies on CBD, there is no consensus on what the optimum amounts are. The research ranges from 5, 10 and 20 milligrams up to thousands of milligrams.

Regardless, many people are enjoying a variety of CBD products, from topicals, to internal products, in a variety of delivery systems from gels, lotions, liquids, capsules, tablets and more.

From my experience, what I’ve seen is, that people seeking to support a healthy stress response, the internal products may be most suited. Conversely, those wishing to support healthy movement and inflammatory balance, the topicals might offer quicker results.

So, either way, whether you choose an internal or external CBD product start small, (10-20 milligrams for internal products and 10, 20 and up to 100 milligrams for the topical products).

There is no need to overdue it and often those smaller amounts are just right.
